Braun Vangater Wheelchair Lifts
An innovative vertical folding design sets the Braun Vangater Series apart from all other wheelchair lifts. This folding action allows easy exit and entry into the vehicle for ambulatory passengers when the lift is stowed. The Vangater leaves over half the side doors on any full size handicap van open and accessible, and owners of the Vangater retain full functionality of the front passenger seat. With fully electric operation, Vangater platforms operate easily with the touch of a button on a hand held control.
Installation in the in the side door of domestic full size vans turns a van into a wheelchair van. Braun has even designed a smaller model to create wheelchair accessible minivans (the Mini-Vangater). With a platform 30 inches wide and 43 or 47 inches long, the Vangater will work with most wheelchair or scooter applications.
An outboard rollstop works automatically, and as a safety function, the lift will not operate until the roll stop is fully engaged. A threshold sensor mat prevents usage of the lift when the doorway is occupied, adding another level of safety.
Adding a remote control and power door openers completes the transition to fully accessible van, and with the touch of a button on your remote, the doors open, the lift deploys, and lowers to the ground. Simply get on the lift, hit the button, and the lift will raise to floor level. Once the lift is stored in the vehicle, a touch of a button will close the doors.
