Nominate Your Hero | Mobility Conquest Wheelchair Accessible Trike Giveaway
Paraplegic Rider to Win Special Motorcycle Built for Wheelchair Access
MobilityWorks and Mobility Conquest announced today their plans to give away a $50,000 wheelchair accessible trike to a paraplegic individual at the 71st Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally being held August 8th through the 14th in Sturgis, SD. The winner will be announced at Midnight August 13th at One-Eyed Jack’s Saloon, one of the more popular venues for motorcycle reveals and special events during the rally.
The Conquest is the only production motorcycle built specifically for paraplegic riders in the world. MobilityWorks is the parent company of Mobility Conquest and builds the trikes at their Akron Ohio manufacturing facility.
The theme of the contest is ‘Nominate Your Hero’, with the contest encouraging spinal cord injury groups, motorcycle clubs, veteran groups and other non-profit organizations to take part in nominating a deserving individual to win the bike. Self-nominations are also being accepted. The winner will be selected by a committee that will review 500-word nomination essays and/or video presentations. The deadline for submitting nominations is Thursday, August 4th.
“Our goal is to give this bike away to the most deserving person we can find that really wants to ride and to be an ambassador for the Conquest” said Bill Koeblitz, President and CEO of MobilityWorks.
The Sturgis Conquest bike is also getting a facelift. Twisted Image Cycles, a custom build shop in Coshocton Ohio is adding a new paint design to the already unique, futuristic looking trike. In addition to the Conquest Trike, Colours Wheelchairs is also giving the contest winner one of their specialty chairs. Known for its cutting edge designs and color schemes, Colours is a leading manufacturer of ultra-light wheelchairs popular with active paraplegics.
