Safe. Simple. Reliable. Three words that describe the Northstar E-Series wheelchair accessible van conversion from VMI. VMI set out to design a simple manual ramp in a lowered floor minivan, and the Northstar E-Series delivers. The Northstar E-Series has many of the accessible features of other handicap vans, without the motors, switches, and power features that could create costly repairs.

Featuring a 10 inch lowered floor, the Northstar E-Series offers the same headroom entering and maneuvering throughout the vehicle. The lowered floor also allows for wheelchair users to have a natural line of sight through the windows (something that is lacking in a non-lowered floor full size handicap van). Another benefit of a lowered floor is an easily maneuverable, gradual ramp angle for most wheelchairs.

The manual ramp easily slides out from the weather sealed compartment with a slight pulling action from an attendant or friend. An additional ramp plate has been installed to make the transition into the van even easier. When the ramp is stowed, it leaves an open doorway for ambulatory passengers to enter and exit the van without deploying the ramp. Both front seats are removable allowing a variety of seating choices once inside the mobility van. Third row flip forward seating has paved the way for maximum storage space in the back of the van. Simply flip the third row seats down and forward.
