VMI Northstar Wheelchair Vans

A 10 inch lowered floor enables most wheelchair passengers ample headroom to enter the vehicle. It also leaves room to ride comfortably once inside the vehicle, as well as maintaining a natural line of sight through the windows. A lowered floor minivan also means a gradual ramp angle easily maneuvered by most wheelchairs.

The wheelchair ramp system has a simple worm screw drive with 3 moving parts. Fewer moving parts mean fewer breakdowns and repairs. When the ramp is stowed in the mobility van, it tucks in a weather sealed compartment, leaving an open doorway for ambulatory passengers to enter and exit the vehicle.

A Power Kneel rear suspension brings the van even closer to the ground, reducing the ramp angle even more. The third-row seats have even been placed on a re-engineered base, allowing for VMI's unique flip forward feature. This allows for the seats to flip down and forward, which increases the storage capacity in the back of the mobility van. Through superb engineering and development, VMI has made one of the safest and most reliable handicap accessible vehicles on the market today.

With the touch of a button, Power Kneel lowers the van closer to the ground. Simultaneously, the passenger side door opens, and the ramp slides out from the weather sealed compartment in the floor. Easily navigate up the ramp and into the van. Generous headroom in the door and throughout the van makes it easy to position a wheelchair to ride comfortably. Take out the front passenger seat to ride shotgun, or even remove the driver seat and pull up behind the wheel and take it for a spin.
